Philips x SEER Robotics, CE-certified stacking forklifts accelerate automated handling.

Background Of The Project

Philips plans to introduce intelligent forklifts into the production area, using them to transport empty racks from the warehouse to the production buffer zone. Previously, this process required manual handling, with high racks and certain weight, posing high physical demands and safety risks for employees.

Customer Issues

The operating environment for the forklifts at Philips is often narrow passages, requiring high demands for the forklift's shape and flexibility.

Solutions

1. CE-certified, the first choice for overseas markets.

SFL-CDD14-CE is equipped with a safety controller SRC-3000FS (forklift version), with CE and UL certifications, and complies with ISO3691-4. It is a forklift product specifically designed for the European market, meeting the basic requirements of Philips' factory forklift applications.

2. Slim body, no fear of ultra-narrow aisles.

The operating environment for the forklifts at Philips is often narrow passages, requiring high demands for the forklift's shape and flexibility. With a body width of less than 1m and a turning radius of only 1.2m, the superior slim body can easily handle dense narrow aisles on site.

3. Customized interface for easier operation.

SEER Robotics has customized the PDA interface for Philips' customers, which is more in line with local operating habits, allowing employees to get started faster and achieve convenient ordering. In addition, SEER Robotics also provides complete technical support and training services to help customers better use and operate the products.

4. Rotating charging for flexibility and efficiency.

According to the division of the Philips site area, the charging area for intelligent forklifts is relatively narrow. To solve this problem, SEER Robotics has set up a "rotating charging" mode, where the forklifts running on site charge in order, achieving balanced power distribution and avoiding power failure. Based on this, not only is charging efficiency improved and the service life of the forklift extended, but energy waste is also reduced.

5. Multiple measures ensure safety.

There are areas at the Philips site where forklifts interact with manual labor, so human-machine safety is the primary consideration in product selection and actual application. SEER Robotics has taken the following measures to enhance safety:

  • Selecting the highly safe SFL-CDD14-CE, the body is equipped with a 3D obstacle avoidance camera, distance sensors, etc., to achieve 360° three-dimensional safety protection.
  • According to the on-site environment, the best forklift running routes, working times, and pallet placement positions are set, and the forklift recognition parameters and safety parameters are finely adjusted to achieve dual protection of safety and efficiency.
  • Setting a fire alarm area, in the event of a fire, the forklift will go to the designated area in the first place and stop immediately.

Benefits To Customers

Two units of Laser SLAM Small Stacker Autonomous Forklift SFL-CDD14-CE from Seer Robotics, have been successfully deployed and working for nearly one year at Philips' factory in Best, the Netherlands, achieving automated and digitalized warehouse rack handling, reducing manual labor and significantly improving overall transfer efficiency.
